At noon on September 27, the three-day 41st World Conference of International Association of Science Parks came to an end in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Ma Jun, Vice Mayor of Beijing, delivered a speech at the closing ceremony and introduced the preparations for the 2025 IASP World Conference hosted by Beijing and the innovation development of Zhongguancun to the participants. In September next year, more than 300 counterparts from over 80 science and technology parks around the world will gather in Zhongguancun, Beijing to discuss innovation together.

Ma Jun said that the 2024 IASP World Conference has excellent content and fruitful achievements, which will provide important references and valuable experiences for Beijing in preparing for the 2025 IASP World Conference. As the organizer of the upcoming IASP World Conference, Beijing will work hard to secure the best venues for hosting the Conference. At same time, with an open, innovative and pragmatic spirit, Beijing will also strive to provide an higher-level scientific and technological platform for the communication and cooperation of global science parks.

The IASP World Conference is known as the "Olympics" in the global science park community. Since its admission to the IASP in 1995, Zhongguancun Science Park successfully hosted the IASP World Conference three times in 1995, 2005 and 2015. After a decade, Beijing, the "Dual Olympic City", once again takes over the flag of the "Olympics" in the global science parks.

The 2025 IASP World Conference will be hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. It will be held at the China National Convention Center and Zhongguancun Science Park from September 16 - 19, 2025. With the theme of "Elevating excellence: Innovation spaces driving high-quality development", the conference will hold various types of activities such as opening ceremonies, plenary sessions, parallel sessions, exhibitions, and scientific and technological visits.
