On April 22, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform announced that the city will launch an industrial upgrade initiative in the second quarter of this year. In response to the public interest in the robotics industry, Beijing will accelerate the clustering of leading robotics enterprises and key component manufacturers, and will host the World Humanoid Robot Games (hereinafter referred to as the "Games") in the second quarter.
It is reported that Beijing plans to hold the Games ahead of the 2025 World Robot Conference. The Games will mainly feature humanoid robot participants, with nearly 20 events such as track and field, soccer, free exercises, and real-world scenario competitions. These events will thoroughly showcase the technological advancements and enhanced capabilities of humanoid robots in terms of athleticism, intelligent interaction, and real-world application, among others.
The Games and the previously concluded marathon will serve as the world's first high-level competition platforms for humanoid robot sports. They are expected to accelerate breakthroughs in humanoid robot technologies, product iteration, and practical applications in humanoid robotics, thereby making it possible for the relevant technologies and innovative products to better serve the economy and society for the benefit of humanity.
