On July 6, the 42nd China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Annual Conference and the 2025 Beijing - Changping Forum on Life Science officially opened in Changping District, Beijing.

At the forum, the Unveiling Ceremony of the Beijing Future Pharmaceutical Industry Chain Research Institute (under preparation) was held. This institute is jointly established by more than 20 industrial associations, leading enterprises, and research institutions in China, aimed at building a high-level think tank and industrial service platform for China's pharmaceutical sector.

Several key life science projects jointly implemented by universities and the local government were also announced during the forum. Changping District, together with Tsinghua University, Peking University, China Agricultural University, and Beijing University of Chemical Technology, will drive breakthroughs in cutting-edge fields such as biomedicine, synthetic biology, and high-end instrument and equipment, to boost the leapfrog development of China's pharmaceuticals and health sectors.

The Support Measures for Promoting Development of Pharmaceutical and Health Industries in Changping Cluster of Sci-Tech Innovation Area of China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone was released at the forum. Leveraging the institutional opening-up of the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the policy is aimed at enhancing the conformity of cross-border R&D collaboration with international standards, and filling technological gaps in cutting-edge fields such as brain-computer interface, AI-driven medicine manufacturing, and cell and gene therapies at an accelerated pace.

During the signing session of key projects, the contracts for 14 key projects were signed for implementation in Changping. Focusing on pharmaceutical R&D layout and the commercialization of original sci-tech achievements, these projects include industrial investment projects such as those of Mindray Medical Devices and Our United Corp., as well as innovation-driven collaborative projects with companies such as Anda Biopharma and Gelaisai.
