Beijing will host its inaugural National Science Popularization Month this September, under the theme "Science Changes Life, Innovation Wins the Future". During the month, nearly 3,000 activities will be organized, including science lectures, salons, exhibitions, interactive experiences, science performances, science readings, and fairs.

Sixteen districts will stage regional events, involving nearly 100 universities, research institutes, and scientific associations, over 200 municipal-level societies, and more than 1,000 enterprises and industrial parks. These organizations will leverage their resources to deliver diverse science popularization programs. Additionally, a number of university laboratories, corporate production lines, and exhibition halls will be opened to the public for free, with 120 publishing organizations, libraries, and bookstores joining the initiative to host science reading promotion activities.

As part of the month-long programme, the 15th Beijing Science Festival will be held in Pinggu District. The festival will feature six "planet-themed" events — Smart Planet, Hardworking Planet, Delicious Planet, Beautiful Planet, Cute Baby Planet, and Green Planet — showcasing cutting-edge achievements in fields such as advanced technology, modern agriculture, food science, floriculture, pet economy, and environmental protection. The festival aims to create an immersive, interactive, and engaging science carnival for the public, blending education with entertainment.
