The 7th New Power System International Forum and the 22nd CSG International Science and Technology Forum opened on Nov 2 in Haikou, South China's Hainan province.

The event, themed "Towards a Green Future Driven by New Technology", is hosted by China Southern Power Grid. It focuses on core topics including energy and power technology innovation, policy mechanisms, market models and the industrial ecosystem.

It brought together leading global energy experts and industry figures to discuss pathways for developing the new power system.

Featuring keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, achievement releases and on-site visits, the event served as an international platform for the deep integration of industry, academia, research and application, and aimed to foster an open, shared and mutually beneficial global energy ecosystem.

CSG released a white paper supporting China's "Six Networks" infrastructure strategy. Other releases included a ±500 kV integrated onshore-offshore compact Voltage Source Converter-High Voltage Direct Current transmission system for 10-GW-class offshore wind bases, the MegaWatt next-generation AI innovation platform and a standardized grid-connection control plan for power electronic-based sources in the new power system.

The Yunrui intelligent agent for new distribution network planning, the self-developed and fully controllable Tianquan power market solver, as well as the CSG 50 Hertz intelligent agent, an integrated energy service assistant on the CSG online platform, were exhibited.

Together, these achievements presented CSG's latest practices in accelerating the development of new energy systems, a new power system, and a new-type power grid.

During the event, the Committee on Energy of the World Data Organization was inaugurated.

The committee aims to advance international cooperation and ecosystem building for energy data, promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the global energy sector, and support inclusive energy development worldwide.

It will focus on fully unlocking the value of energy data as a production factor, promoting trusted data flows, joint standard development and value conversion.

It aims to break down cross-regional and cross-stakeholder barriers to energy data cooperation and build a multi-level, broad-coverage energy data cooperation ecosystem.
