[Photo provided to China Daily] Hundreds of students, teachers and technology enthusiasts explored cutting-edge scientific and technological innovations, including artificial intelligence and robots, at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on Saturday. The event marked the opening of the 2025 Beijing Science and Technology Week and the "Light of Automation" Public Science Day at the CASIA.

[Photo provided to China Daily] Visitors had the opportunity to explore 18 new research achievements, including the Q-series humanoid robots, minimally invasive implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and neuro-regulation robots for brain connectome navigation. Gao Jie, an assistant researcher at the CASIA, said the Q-series humanoid robots have made significant progress in real-time performance, speed, stability and balance through the use of reinforcement learning algorithms, autonomous intelligent control and feedback systems.

[Photo provided to China Daily] "To make it more accessible for the public, we designed a simple demonstration device," said Wang Yanzi, a Master's student in brain-inspired intelligence at CASIA and a member of the mind-controlled rehabilitation team.
