In 2018, in order to build the brand of Beijing International Academic Season, the Commission held a series of Beijing International Academic Season events in accordance with the principles of "focusing on academic research", "gathering the world's top scientists" and "in-depth multi-angle discussion" with relying on three top international academic journals of Cell, Science and Nature.

Technology Diplomats’ Innovation Resources Matchmaking Action

The Technology Diplomats’ Innovation Resources Matchmaking Action is an important bridge for Beijing to be connected to global innovation resources, which has been successfully held for 6 sessions. It will further optimize Beijing's international development environment and promote scientific and technological cooperation in wider filed, higher and deeper level.

China-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Week

The China-Italy Science, Technology & Innovation Week was jointly promoted to be established by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation of Italy in 2010, and is one of the well-known brand events in the field of international science and technology.It has been jointly held for 11 sessions, with a total of more than 7,800 participants,over 6,000 times technical matchmaking between companies from both sides,and over 1,050 cooperation intentions reached, which has effectively promoted the technology transfer and innovation resource exchange and sharing between China and Italy.

Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium

Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium is an important annual event for Beijing and Hong Kong to promote mutual investment. The first session was held in Beijing in 1997, and a total of 24 sessions have been held so far. The Symposium is an important activity for Beijing and Hong Kong to actively carry out scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, promote the construction of scientific and technological innovation centers and enhance the ability of scientific and technological innovation of the two places.

Supporting foreign investors to set up foreign-funded R&D centers in Beijing

Including R&D innovation centers and open innovation platforms, and they can enjoy relevant facilitation measures such in talent support, tax subsidies, IP protection, and the business environment optimization.

Pooling of International Innovation Resources

  • To issue long-term multiple entry R visa for advanced foreign talents
  • To lower the conditions for applying for work permits of foreign advanced talents, simplify the procedures for applying for work permits and work-related residence permits
  • To provide technology contract registration services for foreign-funded R&D centers, so that they can enjoy preferential income tax on technology transfer in accordance with relevant policies
  • To provide high-tech enterprise certification services for foreign-funded R&D centers, so that they can enjoy corresponding tax incentives in accordance with relevant policies
  • To work with other commissions, offices and bureaus to approve the duty-free qualification of imported goods of foreign-funded R&D centers in the city
  • To provide financial support to newly established foreign-funded R&D centers or foreign-funded R&D centers with expanded R&D investment

    We will assist overseas institutions to dock with innovation service resources and operation platforms, build an
    international innovation cooperation servicesystem, and promote them to integrate into the local innovation ecological
    system and market.

  • Support international joint R&D

    We will provide financial support to international joint laboratories, inter-governmental joint R&D programs and Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan joint R&D programs.
